Each gun can easily be distinguished by the colored jewel on its sides: green for Parsley, pink for Sage, blue for Rosemary, and white for Thyme. Each gun also has a uniquely designed chain dangling by the gun's grip, which is made out of metal in this prop replica for a more realistic finish. For successful co-op fights he rewards the player with Sunlight Medals because of his membership in the covenant. The player may join the Warriors of Sunlight after meeting certain requirements upon which they can gain the "Praise the Sun" gesture.

Yoshi is known as Mario's trusted companion throughout the plumber's adventures to rescue Princess Peach and foil the evil plans of the menacing Bowser. Yoshi was initially meant to be a type of Koopa, but eventually evolved into the design we all know and love today. The shell was converted into a saddle for Mario to mount on and was given a more dinosaur-esque sketch to differentiate the two species. 

Apart from Mario's abilities to shoot fireballs using the Fire Flower and time-limited invulnerability using the Super Star, the tandem is better able to defeat their opponents with the help of Yoshi's unique powers.
